Fine Bakery – Student Project for the Course: Business Project (2MO500)
In the winter semester 2021/2022, a team of students (Klára Ondrušková, Hana Podlesná, Petr Ptáček, Petr Vondra and Diana Ignatyeva) successfully developed a project within the course Business Project (2MO500): “Expansion of Fine Bakery s.r.o. on the German market”.
The Department of International Business has been cooperating with the Slovak company Fine Bakery to the great satisfaction of all participants for several semesters, and also this time the students evaluated their work positively. Hana Podlesná described her experience as follows: “We liked the course because we were able to combine the theoretical skills acquired during the entire study with practice, we very much appreciate the valuable advice provided during regular consultations not only by the course guarantor, but also directly by company representatives. We value the teamwork in a group of students from various fields of study from the Prague University of Economics and Business, who connected via minor specialization. The task itself was also interesting, the project focused on a very specific segment – gluten-free pastries, which neither of us knew before. The whole project was therefore very complex, involving a detailed market research, understanding the special needs of consumers and creating a strategy. Especially for those of us who are studying international trade, it has been rewarding to try creating a strategy for a foreign market”.
The marketing specialist of Pekáreň Harmonia, Ivica Wirghová and the sales manager Diana Polomská also positively evaluated the cooperation, they supported the students with their advice and consultations throughout the semester. Mrs. Wirgh evaluated the project as follows: “Thank you very much for developing this helpful analysis. The overall methodology, which included desk research, quantitative and additional qualitative research and subsequent recommendations with regard to the findings, can be assessed positively. … We value the survey on shopping behaviour and attitudes very positively, it mapped the basic information about the frequency, location, attributes for individual categories, as well as the type of packaging or superfoods. Overall, the work contains interesting findings that are a strong basis for our internal discussion on how to proceed strategically and adjust our offer. ”
„We thank Fine Bakery s.r.o. for the beneficial cooperation and support provided to our students and we look forward to further joint projects in the coming semesters “, added Ing. Markéta Lhotáková Ph.D., Academic Project Manager.
