Round Table with Representatives of Spanish-Owned Companies Successfully Concluded

On November 4, 2025, a 100-minute round table discussion, organised by the Department of International Business in collaboration with the Embassy of Spain in Prague, was held to explore the ongoing transformation in the automotive industry, a sector undergoing rapid change driven by innovation, sustainability, and the transition toward decarbonization.

Three panellists led the discussion, which was moderated by Jaime Alcaide, the Commercial Counsellor of Spain in Prague. Each panellist offered a valuable perspective on the industry’s transition.

The panel featured:

• Tomáš Navrátil from SEAT-CUPRA ČR
• Bretislav Hnyk from Antolin ČR
• Jan Šír from GESTAMP ČR

Attended by around 40 students, the round table focused on the main challenges and opportunities facing the automotive industry, including issues of international competitiveness, governance, and emerging trends in mobility. The discussion also highlighted the significant role the automotive sector plays in both the Czech Republic and Spain, with 15 Spanish automotive companies operating production facilities in the Czech Republic.

Additionally, the round table saw representation from MAIER CZ, a Spanish-owned company, through two young employees who emphasised the importance of providing appealing career opportunities for newcomers to the workforce, like themselves.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event a success!
