The new Head of the department doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D.
With the beginning of the new semester, the department is honoured to introduce its new head, doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D., who has been working at the Prague University of Economics and Business as an assistant professor since 2005 and since 2020 as an associate professor, when he defended his habilitation thesis on “Consumer behaviour and trends on the wine market in the Czech Republic and in the world”. He also works as a visiting professor at the University of Northern Colorado in the USA and other foreign universities, e.g. in China, Spain, Ireland or Austria. He has held the position of the head of the Department of International Business since July 2024.
His research focuses on commercial communications, branding and retail marketing. He also focuses on corporate social responsibility, green marketing and sustainability. He has been active in several companies dealing with international trade in the area of FMCG and since May 2024 he has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism, the top representative of Czech trade and tourism. He has also participated as a judge in the Formula Student Czech Republic competition and the High School Business Challenge.
Students also have the opportunity to meet doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D. in the compulsory courses of the International Business programme, specifically Retail business, Retail marketing and Retail management, which are thanks to his initiative now taught both in Czech and in English. He also teaches courses Creativity and Innovation in Marketing in the Age of AI or International Brand Communication Strategy
Last but not least, you could have noticed our new head of the department in the Czech Television programme Černé ovce, where he evaluated the quality of customer service lines of online shops or the availability of services of the Czech Post.
