Latest Findings on Government Strategies for Electromobility at a Conference in Budapest by Dr. Iveta Černá and Dr. Eva Křenková
The Department of International Business has the pleasure of sharing the news that our colleagues, Dr Iveta Černá and Dr Eva Křenková from the Department of International Business presented their contributions on government strategies focusing on electromobility during the International Conference – State policies on the buildout of electric car production in CEE countries.
Dr. Křenková devoted her contribution to comparing the government strategies of the Visegrad countries and Serbia. These strategies focus mainly on the development of infrastructure and the electricity network. However, they also address issues of employee education and adapting the educational process to the requirements of the changing market. On the contrary, they differ, for example, in whether they include rail and multimodal transport or the production of car batteries. Relatively neglected aspects are, for example, the issue of battery recycling.
The main conclusions of the analysis of government support programs presented by Dr Černá are: (1) there is no program aimed exclusively at supporting electric car manufacturers, (2) the main role is played by support programs co-financed by the European Union, and (3) within the framework of the OP PIK, the sector of the automotive industry and downstream suppliers received subsidies of approximately 1 billion CZK.
At the conference organized by the Institute for the World Economy HUN-REN Center for Economic and Regional Studies and supported by Visegrad found, topics devoted to the state and challenges of automobile production, the issue of employees in the production of electric cars and also specific problems related to the environmental burden of car batteries production were discussed.
