Mgr. Kateřina Chvátalová, Ph.D.: New PhD at the Department of International Business

Department of International Business is pleased to share that Mgr. Kateřina Chvátalová, Ph.D., supervised by doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D, successfully defended her dissertation thesis on the topic of “Challenges for the Prague MICE segment” on 2 June, 2026.

In her research, Kateřina focused on the importance of the MICE segment for a specific destination, presented the impacts of the Covid pandemic on congress tourism in Prague, and presented the main changes and challenges that MICE event organizers in Prague are currently facing. The dissertation also presents a model of a functional MICE city destination and draws attention to potential threats that may weaken Prague as a global MICE center in the future.
