New Course: Ethics in Finance by Laure de Batz, Ph.D., MSc.
The Department of International Business has the pleasure to announce that there is a new course 2IB468 Ethics in Finance offered to students studying at the Faculty of International Relations in a master’s program and to exchange students.
The course is guaranteed by Laure Sabine Marie de Batz de Trenquelléon, Ph.D., MSc.

“Ethics in finance: complementary or conflicting terms? In this highly interactive course, you will dig into the most notorious financial crimes to try and better understand what can possibly drive anyone of us into cheating investors and possibly ruining one’s career.
The course aims at raising your awareness and scrutiny to possible ethical challenges firms, managers and employees face when thinking about financial laws and enforcement. The ultimate goal is to prepare yourselves for what to do when facing ethical dilemmas.”
Laure de Batz, Ph.D., has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2020. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Economics at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Centre d’Économie de la Sorbonne) and at Charles University (Institute of Economic Studies). She previously graduated from HEC Paris with her master’s in Macroeconomics and took part in the CEMS exchange program. She is also teaching at University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and taught at Sciences Po Paris. Her research is based on her decade-long work experience in Société Générale and Autorité des Marchés Financiers. She specializes in financial economics, and more precisely in market reactions to frauds and crimes.
