49th EIBA Conference – European International Business Academy
Members and Ph.D. students of the Department of International Business traditionally participated in the annual EIBA conference, which this time was hosted by the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG) in the period 15-17 December in Lisbon.
The conference on: The Changing Global Power Balance: Challenges for European Firms was held in a large format and was attended by approximately 650 scientists mainly from Europe, and further from Australia, the USA, Brazil, India and other countries.
The Czech Republic was represented at the conference by a total of 7 members and Ph.D. students of the Department of International Business, 4 of whom presented a contribution to the conference:
Ing. Eva Křenková, Ph.D. together with Ing. M.Sc. Petr Procházka, Ph.D. presented the research conclusions on Impact of supply chain disruptions on innovations in Czech and Hungarian automotive companies during COVID-19 and Russo-Ukrainian war. They collaborated on the research together with their Hungarian colleague Gábor Túry from the Institute of World Economics, Hungary.
PhD students Ing. Mgr. Daniela Zachová and Ing. Mark Mishcheniuk together with their supervisor doc. Ing. Zuzana Křečková Kroupová M.A., Ph.D. presented the research conclusions on the following topics: Secondment in EU: Fair Remuneration as a Current Challenge of Employers in Relation to the Revision of Posted Worker Directive, Third Country Nationals Based in EU – Case of Vander Elst, its Implementation and Consequences in EU Countries, and International Diversification and Revenue of Czech TOP 10 Joint-stock Companies within the “poster session”.
The FIR was further represented by doc. Ing. Josef Taušer, the dean, doc. Ing. M.Sc. Radka Druláková, Ph.D., the vice-dean for research and doctoral studies and doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D., who represents the Czech Republic and FIR VSE in the board of EIBA (European International Business Academy).
During the conference, international conections were established and deepened, which will lead to further cooperation between FIR and other EIBA members in the field of research, science and the organization of workshops and summer schools. At the moment, there is potential for the organization of a summer school and workshops for selected EIBA members at FMV in the horizon of 2024 and 2025.
The next, this time the jubilee 50th edition of the EIBA conference will take place in December 2024 in Helsinki.
