I-WEEK 2024
In January 2024, the 8th annual International Week took place, organized under the auspices of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. Involved were also the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Finance and Accounting. Over the course of three days, a total of seven intensive courses were conducted, offering students new insights and perspectives on various topics. The teaching sessions ran from Monday, January 15th, to Wednesday, January 17th, and the entire event concluded with a farewell to visiting professors on Thursday, January 18th.
The International Week courses differ from traditional lectures primarily in their teaching style. Students absorb new information within a short timeframe, and for visiting professors, it’s a challenge to convey this information effectively. Students choose one of the intensive courses from the I-WEEK menu, and upon successful completion, they earn 3 ECTS credits. The final assessment in these courses typically involves group work or essay writing.
This year’s edition welcomed a delightful group of professors from various countries, including Slovenia, the Netherlands, Germany, Chile, and Taiwan. Students who had the opportunity to apply their language skills within specialised topics evaluated the courses very positively. The 2024 International Week attracted 187 students. Details about the upcoming courses for the next I-WEEK will be published in June 2024.
