The Department’s Mysterious Business Cases Successfully Exported Overseas
The Department of International Business is pleased to share that on 8 and 9 September 2025, a member of the department organised a small-scale student business competition for students at the Universidad Nacional del Sur in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. This event was an adapted version of the mysterious business competition first held at the Prague University of Economics and Business in November 2023. The pilot competition later evolved into a larger-scale event, held in January 2025 in Slovakia, with the support of the Visegrad Fund (see here).
In Bahía Blanca, students were initially given a workshop, as many of them were not from business-related fields. Afterwards, they were randomly divided into pairs to compete. Six students completed both the workshop and the competition, where they tackled several updated mysterious business cases based on the 2023 edition.
The winning pair, Candelaria S. Kloster and Juan Tappatá, received diplomas and a bag filled with traditional Czech sweet and savory products. The top student of the two-day program, Fiamma N. Crisafulli, was awarded a Czech souvenir – a bag featuring the motif of Prague city.
This successful event marks the first international overseas export of the Department’s mysterious business case concept. Looking ahead, both universities plan to strengthen their partnership and further develop students’ skills through an expanded program.
