24th International Joint Conference: Central and Eastern Europe in the Changing Business Environment Bratislava 23 – 24 May 2024
The Department of International Business is pleased to share the news that the 24th International Conference on Central and Eastern Europe in the Changing Business Environment was hosted by Faculty of Commerce at the University of Economics in Bratislava on May 22nd and 23rd, 2024. The conference was held both in-person and online and was jointly organized by the Faculty of International Relations (namely Department of International Business) & the Faculty of Business Administration (namely Department of Marketing) of Prague University of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Commerce of University of Economics in Bratislava.
The conference focuses on the CEE region and its position in the global economy and its main objective is to identify and analyze ways and strategies whereby internationally operating businesses can maintain and raise their competitiveness. The conference also concerns sustainability and socially responsible strategies.
On the first day of the conference, a welcome evening was held for the participants in Villa Horský Park. The second day of the conference started with a plenary session, where doc. Ing. Josef Taušer, Ph.D., Vice Dean for International Relations and Finance at the Faculty of International Relations, VSE, doc. Ing. Václav Stříteský, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Communication and Corporate Relations at the Faculty of Business Administration, VSE and doc. Ing. Róbert Rehák, Ph.D. Vice Dean for Research and PhD. Study at the Faculty of Commerce, University of Economics in Bratislava welcomed all participants.
The welcome was followed by the keynote speaches by Ota Šimák, director of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Trade Policy and International Economic Organizations, on the topic of Security Aspects of Trade Policy, Juraj Polerecký, enterprise Segment Marketing Lead at Microsoft Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, on Unleashing the Potential of Artificial Intelligence with Copilot, and Romana Olexová, CMO at SmartGuide, on the topic of I-Driven Personalized Recommendation for Travelers Contributing to Sustainable Tourism in Hotspot Destinations.
In the afternoon to sections took place on International Trade, Business & Management and International Marketing & Consumer Behavior. Faculty of international relations and Department of International Business were represented by our collagues.
Ing. Václava Kloudová Jiřičková and doc. Ing. Zuzana Křečková Kroupová, M.A., Ph.D. jointly presented research on the topic Role of Psychological Safety in Organizational Behaviour. Mgr. Ing. Kamila Matysová, Ph.D. presented her research on Leadership in Intercultural Teams. Ing. Mark Mishcheniuk introduced his contribution in Geopolitical Resilience in International Business: Case of Czech MNCs. Ing. Mgr. Daniela Zachová together with doc. Ing. Zuzana Křečková Kroupová, M.A., Ph.D. introduced their research on HRM Global Mobility Practice: Remuneration of Posted Workers as a Part of Relocation Process.
