Defences and State Exam in the Study Program IBB and IB in September 2022
The State Exam in the study program IBB will take place on September 7th, 2022.
Defences of bachelor’s and master’s theses at the Department of International Business within the study program IBB and IB will take place on September 5th, 2022, and September 14th, 2022. Students are divided into commissions according to their supervisor as follows:
September 5th starting from 9am – defences under the supervision of Andrea Escobar Rios, Doctora en Ciencias and Ing. Markéta Lhotáková, Ph.D.
September 14th starting from 9am – defences under the supervision of Ing. Jaroslav Halík, MBA, Ph.D., Ing. Vadim Semenenko, Kand. ekonom.věd, Ing. Zuzana Křečková Kroupová, M.A., Ph.D. and Ing. Mgr. Tomáš Sadílek, Ph.D.
Registration will be available via InSIS from September 1st, 2022 – an extra-semester course (2OBP for IBB and IB3_2 for IB), which will take place in the winter semester of the academic year 2022/23.
At the Department of International Business, a student’s performance is expected to be accompanied by a presentation of the student´s thesis in PowerPoint. The presentation should take approximately 5 minutes and follow the required structure:
– the goal and purpose of your thesis;
– structure;
– methodology (including (according to what you used) research questions and hypotheses);
– main findings;
– main sources.
The student’s presentation is followed by a discussion based on the assessments by the academic consultant (supervisor) and the opponent (further relevant questions can be raised by any member of the commission). As a final part of the presentation, the student can also prepare slides with answers to questions from the assessments.
In order to smoothly proceed with the defence, please, send your PowerPoint presentation to the department secretary (jarmila.kopecka@vse.cz) the latest two days before your defence.
Holding defences or state exams online is only possible in very exceptional cases this semester – typically in the case of ordered quarantine or isolation. The student must apply for an online defence in advance through the InSIS contact centre and duly substantiate his / her request and provide the reasons.
