Study Tour SCM and Digital Transformation

The Innovation Week SS 2024 at the Prague University of Economics and Business is interesting not only for the regular and Exchange students but also for students from our partner universities.

On April 6–13, 2024, the first Study Tour in SCM and Digital Transformation for students of Bachelor in Operational Management from Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management – IAE. These French students arrived in Prague to attend exciting lectures, seminars, and workshops about innovations and visit innovative Czech companies.

The program for French students and professors was pretty busy and consisted of a kick-off workshop AI Driven Venture Design: Workshop in Creative Dock with Adam Hanka and Martina Vošková, where students learned how to use AI to develop a successful and viable innovative product.

After that, the Department of International Business provided students with the opportunity to learn more about practical Applications of AI in Business during a workshop led by Ondřej Vaněk, CEO of Blindspot.AI where students learned how to use AI in manufacturing, e-commerce and public services.

The third workshop on Creative Methods for Innovations was held by Tomáš Sadílek and it involved practical in-group tasks where students learned selected creative techniques for finding ideas for innovations, such as brainwriting and scenario planning, synectics, and six thinking hats.

To engage in a cross-cultural experience, French students collaborated with the students of the International Business program in tasks focused on crafting global cooperation which was held by Siemens as an experienced trainer with a focus on the future of work and networking in multinational corporations.

The vital part of the program were company visits and excursions. Students gained experience from various industries, such as the production line and museum in Velkopopovický Kozel, which is a part of Plzeňský Prazdroj, Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics where they have learned about applications of industrial automation, especially industrial robots with Professor Václav Hlaváč, in Seznam.cz with Aneta Kapuciánová and Martin Kirschner they understood of various AI applications in their product and services. Almost the entire Wednesday was the Škoda Auto Day starting with the lecture and discussion about Škoda Auto cars and after-sales products on the French market with David Konupčík and Jana Červová and then students visited the moulding shop, robotic welding line and assembly line seeing manufacturing of Škoda Scala and Kamiq. To inquire more about Škoda Auto and its technologies, students visited Škoda X and followed the lecture and discussion held by Michal Reichl about new applications and technologies that Škoda X develops for its cars. Finally, on Friday, students presented their group projects about success stories and examples of good practices they learned in Czech companies.

In the afternoons, students have an option to explore Prague and its surroundings, such as Velké Popovice Brewery, Old Town and Lesser Town, Lesser Town Gardens, Petřín Hill, Jewish Quarter, and the Prague Castle. The program finished by visiting the Karlštej castle on Friday afternoon.

It was a busy week for all participants and we believe that they enjoyed it very much. This is just the beginning of the study programs for students from Aix-Marseille Graduate School of Management – IAE at the Faculty of International Relations, Prague University of Economics and Business.
