A Visit to Kantar’s Global Research Company

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering academic and industry connections, we are pleased to share an insightful event that took place during the Innovation Week SS2024 at the Department of International Business. On Thursday, April 11, our students had the privilege of visiting Kantar’s global research company in Prague.

Exploring Market Research: The visit provided a unique opportunity for our students to delve into the world of market research. Kantar, a renowned player in the field, welcomed our students with open arms.

Significance of Advertising Analysis: Throughout the visit, insightful presenters engaged our students in discussions about the critical role of advertising analysis. They emphasized the importance of understanding consumer behavior and market dynamics.

Practical Demonstrations: Using cutting-edge technologies and software, the hosts demonstrated how to effectively interpret and study consumer reactions. Our students gained practical skills that will undoubtedly serve them well in their future careers.

Shaping Future Professionals: This experience left our students intrigued and engaged. The blend of theory and real-world application has ignited their curiosity and passion for market research.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Kantar for generously opening their doors to our students, to Ing. Petr Král, Ph.D., the Head of the Department of International Business and Dr. Andrea Escobar Rios for all the organization. Such interactions enhance our academic ecosystem and empower our students to thrive in the ever-evolving business landscape.

 

Ing. Petr Král, Ph.D., is the head of Department of International Business since 2014. His teaching and research areas are International Marketing and International Marketing Communication. He acts as visiting scholar at various partner universities abroad (France, Austria, Latvia, China, and USA). At the UEP he teaches in international programs International Business and CEMS. He conducted several research and business projects in cooperation with corporate partners of the UEP. He is a member in a faculty group for marketing in the international strategic alliance CEMS. He teaches at the Czech Trade Export Academy and in the Sport Diplomacy program which is jointly organized by the Faculty of International Relations and the Czech Olympic Committee. He works as a consultant for Czech SMEs that expand to Germany.

Andrea Escobar Rios is an Assistant Professor at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE) since September 2019. She received her PhD in Mexico in 2017, from the EGADE Business School of the Tecnológico de Monterrey with a doctoral stay for the development of thesis in Czech Republic within the University of Economics of Prague VŠE. Her research area is developed in the field of luxury marketing, fashion brands, consumer behavior,  country of origin as heritage and its impact on brand development. She has conducted research in some European countries, with a focus on France and Italy, for the Louis Vuitton and Prada brands. Since 2017 began her experience as a teacher for bachelor and postgraduate students in Mexico in subjects as market research, consumer behavior and marketing seminars. She also has extensive experience in the entertainment and public relations industry, in companies such as The Walt Disney Company and Warner Brothers, this last one as a current partner for market research projects.
